When I read, I read to learn something or at least understand a new concept. For example, I might read a book like Thinking in Bets: Making Smarter Decisions When You Don’t Have All the Facts by Annie Duke. My usual would be to read it, take a few notes and that would have been it. But over the past several months during quarantine, I noticed that as I age, I’m finding it even harder to remember what I’ve learned yikes! You would think after spending hours dedicated to this book, you would at least remember something. Now there are many things you could do to retain at least a few more things than nothing or at least much better using SRS and such, but I’m pretty lazy, so I optimize as much as I can.
I read, highlight something that tickles my brain, dump that highlight into readwise then review and put into roam/previously Evernote.
Nothing crazy special just a few things I do to keep it all in my brain for use later.
